Event of the Week - Paddle for a Purpose

  • When: Thursday, October 17th, from 6-9pm

  • Where: Austin Pickle Ranch - Braker Lane

  • Women-led, women-only (ladies come support the ladies!)

  • All skill levels welcome

  • 25% of all ticket sales benefit The United Breast Cancer Foundation

Texas Ranchers Roundup - Sin City Showdown

The Texas Ranchers aka America's Pickleball Team

Austin's Major League Pickleball team, the Texas Ranchers, are heading to MLP Las Vegas next week from October 14-16. Their tourney schedule is as follows:

  • Monday October 14 - match vs New Jersey 5s

  • Monday October 14 - match vs LA Mad Drops

  • Tuesday October 15 - rivalry match vs Dallas Flash Pickleball

  • Tuesday October 15 - match vs STL Shock

  • Wednesday October 16 - match vs Columbus Sliders

After MLP New York and MLP Virginia Beach in September (where the Ranchers had a bye), the team still sits in third place with 35 points.

Premiere standings heading into MLP Las Vegas

That said, MLP Las Vegas will be an exciting event for the Ranchers, as 3 of their 5 matches will be against the top teams in the league. When looking at total games played in the 2024 MLP season against these top ranked teams, the Ranchers are 1-7 vs Dallas Flash Pickleball, 2-3 vs New Jersey 5s, and 4-4 vs STL Shock.

The Ranchers have a big opportunity this event to improve their ranking and, pending outcomes from other teams, move into first place in the league. They also have the opportunity to get their first 2024 match win against rivals Dallas Flash Pickleball.

All MLP matches can be watched live on YouTube and Pickleball TV.

  • Pickleball Kingdom is hosting an open house on October 12th and 13th from 1-8pm at their new facility in Pflugerville.

  • Paddle for a Purpose, presented by Arvo and Racquet Moms, taking place Thursday 10/17 from 6-9pm at Austin Pickle Ranch - Braker Lane.

  • Pickleball Power Play is hosting a two day pickleball training camp for 3.5 level players on November 2nd and 3rd at Cranky Pickle in New Braunfels.
