Austin Pickleball Update Turns 1
Just over one year ago on November 24, 2023, we published Volume 1 of Austin Pickleball Update.
In that very first issue, we stated the our intention with Austin Pickleball Update, “to provide timely and relevant news about pickleball for the Austin metro area so that you can spend less time figuring out where/how/who to play, and more time actually playing pickleball.”
We had an idea that, like us, pickleball players in Austin were an active and engaged community that wanted to stay in the know around the latest courts, clubs, tournaments, events, and pickleball news.
After one year, 28 newsletter volumes, and a growing Austin community of 3,100+ pickleball players, you have all proved and validated the idea of Austin Pickleball Update beyond anything we could have imagined.
To all of our readers, whether you have been here since volume 1 or only recently joined, we are grateful for your support, feedback, and love.
Austin Pickleball Update is here to serve and provide value for you on your pickleball journey, and we look forward to continuing to bring you the best and latest of all things pickleball in Austin.
See you on the courts!

Texas Ranchers Roundup - Here’s to a Stellar Season!
The Texas Ranchers finish a stellar 2024 MLP season in 4th place, ending behind the STL Shock, New Jersey 5’s, and 2024 MLP Champions Dallas Flash Pickleball.
Congratulation to the Dallas Flash on their 2024 MLP Championship!
The Ranchers went to Orlando hoping to bring back a championship, but ended up falling to the New Jersey 5s in the semifinal matchup 0-2.
They fought hard in the bronze medal match against the STL Shock, but ultimately ended their season on a Dreambreaker loss, losing 2-3 in the third place match.
All said and done, this was a stellar season for the Texas Ranchers. They picked up an incredible addition to their team off waivers, Quang Duong, finished ahead of 8 other MLP teams, and won in the first round of the playoffs to make it to the semifinals.
#RideTall, Texas Ranchers!
The team, and the Texas Ranchers organization as a whole, have every reason to be proud of how they showed up in the 2024 season. They definitely did Ranchers Nation and the city of Austin proud.
With the 2024 MLP season on the books we are officially into the off season. Each MLP team is required to drop one player from their roster, so it will be interesting to see the off season moves made by the Ranchers organization.
See you next season!
Thanks for joining us as we followed the incredible journey of the Texas Ranchers for the 2024 MLP Season!
And stay tuned to Austin Pickleball Update for the latest news and information about Austin’s professional pickleball team, the Texas Ranchers, when the 2025 MLP season kicks off next year!
